In March 2021, «Atameken-Turkestan» MFO LLP was established - an organization for providing affordable financing to graduates of the Bastau Business project.
At the meeting of the Project Office for Entrepreneurship, which was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, the Akimat of the Turkestan region was instructed to create a microfinance organization to provide affordable financing for graduates of the Bastau Business project. According to the Minutes of the last meeting, the organization should carry out its activities jointly with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs. So, in March of this year, «Atameken-Turkestan» MFO LLP was established, where the SEC "Turkestan" acted as a representative of the Akimat of the Turkestan region.
The prerequisite for the creation of this MFI is the current economic situation in the country. It is obvious that with the introduction of restrictive measures, many Kazakhstanis have been left without means of subsistence, and the economy needs additional state support.
In general, the MFI is created for concessional lending to the self-employed and unemployed who have completed training under the Bastau program. In the future, «Atameken-Turkestan» MFO plans to provide support to start-up entrepreneurs in the framework of the «Program for the development of productive employment and mass entrepreneurship».
For reference: Training under the project «Bastau-business» involves obtaining basic knowledge of entrepreneurship. After the defense of the business plan, participants have the opportunity to receive the necessary financial resources on affordable terms for the implementation of the business idea. Along with this, the participants will be accompanied by consultants: in the business service centers (PSC), the borrower will be able to apply with a certificate, EDS, where, on the principle of one window, he will be able to apply for a micro-loan and collect the necessary documents from state databases. An effective ecosystem of support for start-up entrepreneurs in rural areas will ensure sustainable employment and economic growth in the regions.
