To date, there is a shortage of large dairy farms in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thus, the processing companies of the republic are forced to buy more than 75% of milk from private subsidiary farms, which affects the quality of raw materials. In addition, the lack of a sufficient number of large farms and farms with high-quality raw materials, the lack of a culture of feed production lead to the fact that the volume of processed products barely covers the needs of the domestic market.
Today, the leading positions in the production of wool, milk and meat are held by the Turkestan region, and one of the priorities of the region is to provide the regional center with food in full and quality. In this regard, it was decided to create a food belt around the city of Turkestan, which includes a number of anchor projects. One of the main projects is the creation of a dairy farm with its own feed base.
Since 2019, as part of the first stage of implementation, JSC "SEC "Turkestan" has started a project for the cultivation of forage crops on an area of 1000 hectares. With budget funds and attracted investments, 18 sprinklers were purchased and installed, as well as a machine and tractor station with 26 units of agricultural equipment was created to service the cultivated land. According to the project implementation plan, the harvested crop will provide the industrial dairy farm under construction with the necessary feed base.
In turn, the main goal of the new farm, with a capacity of 1,200 heads of Holstein-Frisian breed, is to provide the population with high-quality dairy products. The construction of the farm has begun on an area of 46 hectares, on the territory of the village of Yntymak (Kentau, village of Step). To date, as part of the project, a technology supplier has been identified (represented by the Italian company Rota Guido) and construction and installation work has begun.
It is planned that the implementation of this project will contribute to improving the quality and increasing the volume of milk and dairy products, and create new jobs. In the future, the project will provide the regional center, which attracts more and more tourists every year, with high-quality dairy products.
