The goal of the project is to Create an alternative to the car and public transport, providing affordable transport for city residents and tourists.

Implementation plan:

Stage 1: pilot mode (lease) from 11.2019 to 01.2020-11.4 million tenge (at the expense of sponsorship funds Of the corporate social Fund.development of "Turkestan")

Launch of 5 bike stations / 40 bike types.

Stage 2: lease extension from 2020 to 2021-23.3 million tenge (5 bike stations / 40 bike types)

Stage 3: purchase of 10 Bicycle stations/100 bicycles in 2020 – 346.4 million tenge

 

Expected result:

  • fully functioning automated bike rental system in busy areas of Turkestan;
  • sports and recreation leisure for tourists, visitors and residents of the city.

Current situation:

Between the Corporate Fund of social development "Turkistan" with JSC "SEC "Turkestan" and Public Fund "Velocity.kz" signed a contract to lease 5 bike stations for 4 months (October 2019 – January 2020). In concert with the akimat of Turkestan and the Department of architecture of the city identified locations for installation of stations. The pilot launch period of the system lasted from October 2019 to the end of January 2020. Due to the lack of financing for the lease of existing bike stations and the purchase of new bike stations by the mayor's office of Turkestan, from February to April 2020 the lease agreement for 5 stations between the Corporate Fund for social development "Turkistan" and the Public Fund "Velocity.kz".
