In the context of the global pandemic, recreational and health tourism is receiving special attention around the world. The territorial location of the Turkestan region gives an advantage in this direction and indicates a great potential for the development of this industry as a whole.
Thus, at the expense of the investor partner JSC "SEC Turkestan" (hereinafter-SEC), a project is being implemented for "Construction of mountain infrastructure and the tourist and recreational complex "Kaskasu" on the territory of the state unitary enterprise "Sairam-Ugam national Park". The total cost of the project is more than 20 billion tenge. According to the Chairman of the Board of the SEC Aigul Akhmedzhanova, the international-level resort, located on 280 hectares, will be able to receive about 5 thousand tourists a day for year-round recreational and health tourism by 2025. It is also expected that the project will create 356 jobs by 2022, and about 1,500 jobs by 2025.
As part of the concept of development of Turkestan, the regional center is implementing a project on "Creating a tourist and advertising information infrastructure for the exterior design of the city", which is planned to install 215 advertising structures by the end of 2021. The main goal of the project is to develop the infrastructure of Turkestan and to date, the first stage of the project has been completed – 34 advertising structures have been installed for a total of more than 400 million tenge.
"As part of the development of the tourism infrastructure of the SEC, a social project is being implemented to introduce the automated bike rental system "Turkistan Bike". Now the city has 5 bike stations with 40 bicycles. The pilot launch of the project was successful and now bike rental is in great demand among both local residents and visitors of the city, providing everyone with an alternative to the car and public transport for movement and active recreation," said Aigul Toleugazyevna.
In addition, the sec plans to carry out an infrastructure reorganization in terms of tourism, creating conditions for tourists on the paths connecting pilgrimage and historical and cultural destinations. It is expected that the SEC's activities in the tourist area will contribute to the development of the spiritual capital of the Turkic-speaking world and will enable the city of Turkestan to once again become a center of attraction for pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
