In order to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation that arose as a result of flooding in Maktaaral district in early may of this year, work was launched in the Turkestan region to collect charitable and sponsorship assistance through the Corporate social development Fund "Turkistan" (hereinafter – the Fund).
As of 30.07.2020, the Fund received funds in the amount of 8,539,880,411 tenge. To date, the Fund has provided assistance to the residents of the affected villages for the total amount of 6,603,908,580 tenge, including compensation in the amount of$ 1,000, compensation for the loss of livestock and compensation for the restoration of residential buildings.
According to the program, compensation for the restoration of damaged residential buildings in Maktaaral district is paid in three large tranches totaling 17 million tenge. After providing the full package of necessary documents, residents will be paid the first tranche of 8,500,000 tenge (50% of the total amount), and the remaining 2 tranches of 25% will be paid during the construction of housing. To date, 509 contracts have been signed within the framework of assistance to restore residential buildings, of which 496 have been paid for the first tranches. In addition, 33 families received the 2nd tranche of compensation in the amount of 4,250,000 tenge. The Fund's specialists continue to work on preparing the necessary documents for disbursing funds and monitoring the progress of construction.
In addition, the construction of 170 houses in the village of Myrzakent is being actively carried out by JSC "SEC "Turkestan" together with the corporate Fund "Birgemiz-Turkistan" and the private Fund "Utemuratov Fund". In General, more than 2,200 workers are currently employed on construction sites, of which about 1,800 work on construction sites in the villages of Firdousi and Orgebas.
In addition, the Fund organized transportation of children to summer camps located in the city of Kapshagai and Tolebi district, for a total amount of 35 million tenge. Children of various ages from families affected by the flood were sent to special camps.
