A group of entrepreneurs from the Republic of Turkey arrived on a working visit to the Turkestan region. The purpose of the trip: to invest in the construction of a plant for the production of electricity from cotton waste.
During the meeting, the first deputy akim of the Turkestan region Kairat Nukenov acquainted the delegation with the economic and investment potential of the region, and also expressed his readiness to establish close cooperation in various fields.
- We started the revival and modernization of the city of Turkestan, as the spiritual and cultural center of the Turkic world and Central Asia. We are facing great challenges in this direction. Between the two countries there is every opportunity to build up mutually beneficial production, trade, economic and investment cooperation. A favorable investment climate has been created in our region, there are appropriate mechanisms for stimulating and developing business, as well as measures to support entrepreneurship. In addition, we are ready to listen to and support your suggestions for the development of tourism and agricultural industry in our region, ”K. Nukenov said.
In turn, Chairman of the Board of Biotrend energy Murat Aslan noted that the company is a leading enterprise in the processing of agricultural products and expressed its intention to build a plant to generate electricity from cotton waste.
According to Turkish investors, about 1 ton of cotton leaves about 1 ha of cotton, from which 30-40 MW of electricity can be produced. At the same time, the head of the delegation asked for the necessary support regarding the allocation of land and paperwork.
It should be noted that the project will be implemented with the support of the TURKISTAN INVEST branch of SEC Turkestan JSC.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of NK Kazakh Invest JSC in the Turkestan region, the tourism and foreign relations department, and the agriculture department.
Biotrend energy, which was founded in 2012, produces clean energy according to international standards. Today, the company employs more than 200 qualified employees.
