From January 11 to January 24, 2019, the foreign trip of the Advisor to the akim of the Turkestan region - doctor of historical sciences, professor, representative of JSC "SEC" Turkestan "Sattar Fazylovich Mazhitov to India. The main purpose of the trip was to study the experience of state participation in the production of products of social significance, the presentation of the investment and tourism potential of the region.

As part of the trip, Professor Mazhitov took part in the Indusfood World Food and Beverage Exhibition, organized by the Trade Promotion Council of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India in the cities of Noida and New Delhi. During the event at a round table organized for Russian representatives and Kazakhstan, he made a presentation with a presentation on Turkestan and the Turkestan region. The information on the main indicators of the socio-economic and cultural development of the Turkestan region, as well as on the activities and development plans of the Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation "Turkestan" and the Regional Investment Center (RIC, "RICON") is demonstrated.

B2B meetings were held with representatives of more than 50 Indian and foreign companies, including: EMEA IFC (South Africa), Fruit Real LLC (Republic of Belarus), Product distribution companies and Ramazan (Tajikistan). In particular, technologies of deep processing of agricultural products were of great interest to the Turkestan region. The representatives of Nabeel Meatex discussed the possibilities of import and exchange of experience in processing, hygiene of processing and packaging of meat products. Food and drinks aroused great interest: AxiomRedefining Ayurveda (production of medicinal drinks from Aloe vera juice and herbs), JivrajTea Company (production and export of tea), JivrajTea 9 (production and export of tea), PansariGroup, Bharat International PrivateLimited ”(production of oils, rice, spices) and other companies.

During negotiations with the main organizer of the Exhibition - Chairman of the Trade Facilitation Council of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India MohitSingle, issues of promoting Indian goods, attracting investment and tourists from India to the Turkestan region were raised. The Indian side has shown considerable interest in cooperation in this area.

Within the framework of the trip, meetings were held with professors and experts interested in cooperation with the Turkestan region. After detailed negotiations, Professor PhulbadanKumar is Director of the Center for Russian and Central Asian Studies at the University. J. Nehru and Vijay Kumar Bhatia of the University of Delhi accepted the offer to become members of the Turkestan International Scientific Advisory Council. Professor Nirmala Joshi, an experienced specialist in geopolitics and geoeconomics of Central Asia, expressed a desire to come to Turkestan and the Turkestan region to give lectures, and a number of students and doctoral students of the Center for Russian and Central Asian Studies of the University. J. Nehru voiced their intention to devote their research to the Turkestan region.

Following a trip to India, agreements were reached on cooperation with a wide range of Indian and foreign food and beverage companies. In the near future, negotiations will also be held with potential Indian investors interested in Turkestan and the Turkestan region.
